Under supervision of a radiologist and direction department leadership, competently performs imaging on a 1.5 T magnetic resonance imaging scanner. Responsible for scanning and preparing images for review per protocols in MRI. Must have the ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy, perform MRI's and inject contrast media where applicable. Responsible for providing service excellence and complying with hospital policies and procedures. Uses the RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording of patient exams and dissemination of patient results.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completed education requirements to become Certified in MRI.
Minimum Work Experience
- Recent, up to one year, hospital related experience
- Digital Imaging and post processing PACS experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
- MRI certified by ARRT (ARMRIT or CAMRT)
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Must obtain 24 ECE credits, in a two-year period, for re-certification and licensure.
- 2 MRI Safety Credits annually
or acquire within first year of employment.

- Knowledge and ability to provide care based on physical and psychosocial development and safety issues related to patients of all age groups, including infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
- Strong communication skills to effectively relay information both up and down the chain of command.
- Ability to plan, organize, set goals and objectives for review and evaluation.
- Knowledge of state and federal health safety laws and TJC Standards.
- Ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy.
- Ability to establish access to veins for purpose of giving IV contrast.
- Knowledge of basic medical equipment (i.e. O2 Tank, pulse oximeter, EKG machines, etc.).
- Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
Pay Range = $31.71 - $46.88
